We were the lovers who strolled through greenfields

Greenfields are gone now parched by the sun. 
Gone from the valleys where rivers used to run
Gone with the cold windthat swept in to my heart 
Gone with the lovers who let their dreams depart
Where are the greenfields that we...used to roam? 

I'll never know what made you run away
How can I keep searching when dark
clouds hide the day? 
I only know there's nothing here for me 
Nothing in this wide world is now left for me to see 
But I keep on waiting...until you return
I keep on waiting until the day you learn
You can't be happy
while your heart's on the roam

until you bring it home. Home to the greenfields..

옛날 햇살이 빛나는 푸른 초원이 있었어요.
옛날 강물이 흘렀던 계곡이 있었어요. 
옛날 흰 구름이 둥실둥실 떠 있는 하늘이 있었어요.
옛날 그들은 영원한 사랑의 일부였지요.
그리고 우린 푸른 초원을 거닐었던 연인들이었어요.

그러한 푸른 초원은 지금 태양에 말라 붙어 사라졌어요.
 강물이 흘렀던 계곡에서 사라졌어요.
나의 가슴에 몰아친 차가운 바람과 함께 사라졌어요. 
꿈을 버린 연인들과 함께 사라졌어요.
우리가 거닐던 푸른 초원은 어디에 있나요? 

무엇이 당신을 떠나게 했는지 알 수가 없습니다.
어두운 구름이 하늘을 덮어 가릴 때 내가 어떻게
계속 찾을 수 있을까요?
난 단지 내게 아무 것도 남은 게 없다는 걸 알 뿐이에요.
이제 이 넓은 세상에서 내게 남은 것은 아무 것도 없어요.
 하지만 난 당신이 돌아올 때까지 계속 기다릴 거예요.
나는 기다리겠습니다. 당신이 방황을 하면 결코
행복해질 수 없을거예요.
초원으로 또한 내게로 돌아올 때까지는 결코
행복해질 수는 없을거예요.
푸른 초원이 있는 고향에서
재회의 기쁨을 나누어요.
